Today's Devotion 12 August 2017
Rest in God

Rest in God's ever loving and everlasting arms. Your journey has been a long and difficult one, yet God knows how hard is has been for you. Do not compare yourself to others who seem to have skip along their paths with ease. Everyone has a different journey with different gifts. God has provided each one of us a haven and that haven is with God. Rest with God and let Him take on your worries, take on your illness and take on your cares. For God all is possible and rest with Him when you are weak and weary because God does not despite your weakness. Rest in His loving arms and know that God has a plan, a great plan for you.

"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed," says the Lord, who has compassion on you."' -Isaiah 54:10

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
- Philippians 4:13

This truth inspires us at Faith Defines Us to live boldly in our faith. Because Jesus lives, we are called to walk in His victory, share His love, and be a light to the world. Easter is a reminder that no matter how dark the circumstances, God’s power and promises are greater.

The Power of the Cross

On Good Friday, we reflect on the crucifixion of Jesus Christ — the day when God’s plan for redemption reached its most painful yet triumphant moment. Jesus bore the weight of our sins, enduring unimaginable suffering so that we could have eternal life.

Isaiah 53:5 reminds us: “But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds, we are healed.”

Good Friday is not just a commemoration of Christ’s death; it’s a celebration of the love that made it possible. It’s a reminder that our Savior willingly endured the cross for each of us.
